Andromeda Turre is a performing and immersive artist, vocalist, songwriter, and composer.
Her performance expertise is primarily vocal as well as dance and acting. As a songwriter and composer, she works mostly in jazz, pop and electronica. Andromeda has also worked as a consultant and creator of immersive experiences for private events across the country. Born and raised in New York City to jazz musician parents, Andromeda started on piano composing songs at age two. Piano lessons gave way to dance lessons and she spent her youth studying music as well as ballet, modern (Graham, Horton and Dunham), tap, jazz, flamenco, African, belly dancing, hip hop and traditional Indian dance at The Dance Theater of Harlem and Alvin Ailey. She joined her school choir and went from ensemble to soloist to diving into acting and starring in her High Schools musicals.
She attended The Boston Conservatory for Theater and Berklee College of Music for Vocal Performance. Her first professional job was becoming the last “Raelette” to sing background vocals for Ray Charles. After Mr. Charles’ death, a chance audition sent her off to Japan to sing with a Big Band there.
While living in Japan for nearly two years, and produced her first album Introducing Andromeda Turre which featured her original music and arrangements she did of Jazz standards. With a lot of gumption and the internet as an invaluable resource, Andromeda learned how to make connections, direct her own career and manage her band. She spent the next six years touring, performing and music directing her original music and jazz standards in over 17 countries. Returning to NYC, she became invested in the world of immersive theater. Performing as a singer & dancer in Sleep No More for two years, she then went on to perform in several other Off-Broadway immersive shows and starred in the first incarnation of the immersive Eden experience for Celebrity Cruises. Later, Andromeda wrote and performed her own immersive one woman show which she took to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
As a songwriter & composer for hire, Andromeda’s original electro-pop music has been featured in campaigns for MTV, VH1, Walmart, NBC’s The Voice, Abercrombie & Fitch, Bebe, H&M and several other major corporations, television shows and video games. She has released seven Electro-pop albums and several singles under the pseudonym Eminent Pulse so as not to confuse her jazz following. Her voice has been used in recordings for Disney, Saturday Night Live, Nickelodeon, OWN network, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Viacom and many more.
In 2019, Andromeda was hired to write an original jazz score and songs for Lena: A Moment with a Lady. A musical about the life of Lena Horne performed by Broadway star Syndee Winters. She also conducted and music directed the show which will be featured in an upcoming documentary on PBS.
With over 10 years of experience, Andromeda founded M31 Entertainment where she now manages three private event bands and also conceptualizes immersive experiences.
